PWL Series: a smart assistant for visual inspection activities

The PWL Series of pharma semi-automatic inspection machines is designed to simply and effectively overcome problems associated with the manual visual inspection of vials, cartridges, syringes, and ampoules. Operator training is very simple, and operations are performed under optimized conditions of lighting, safe handling, and comfort.

By combining a compact, ergonomic design with advanced lighting systems, the PWL series creates an optimized workspace where operators can process up to 2,500 pcs/hour under controlled lighting conditions for an optimal inspection performance. This smart integration of technology ensures maximum visibility and reliable defect detection, seamlessly bridging the gap between manual solutions like our Bench Vision Unit and the high-speed performance of our automatic visual inspection systems.

Every detail of the PWL Series is engineered to maximize operator comfort and inspection accuracy. We combine a highly ergonomic inspection place with intuitive controls to create an optimal working environment:

  • Flexible layouts: available in single or dual-cabin (back-to-back) configurations to suit your floorplan
  • Ergonomic posture: features a standard working height of 900 ± 25 mm and adjustable object inclination (20°– 30°) for comfortable, prolonged use
  • Reject systems: configurable with either manual or automatic rejection mechanisms.
  • Adjustable illumination: fully adjustable LED light sources
  • Tyndall effect: a specialized Tyndall light source designed to make reflecting particles highly visible and easy to detect
  • 360° visibility: equipped with a high magnifying lens and adjustable mirrors positioned above and below the transport lane
  • User-Friendly HMI: a 17” color touchscreen monitor with an external keyboard provides seamless and easy control over all machine operations

Specialized configuration for syringes (PWL SY)

Inspecting pre-filled syringes requires precise handling to ensure uncompromised quality and patient safety. The PWL SY model is specifically tailored to address these unique packaging challenges:

  • Needle-up orientation: syringes are deliberately inspected with the needle pointing up. This orientation provides a critical advantage to avoid hidden particles from remaining undetected under the cap.
  • Seamless in-line automation: to streamline your production flow, an automatic denester is available to load the syringes directly on the infeed path. Additionally, an automatic renester in-line connection can be integrated to effortlessly connect the visual inspection phase with your broader manufacturing line.
